For the past 81 years, the Child and Mother Welfare Association‘s dedication has been focused on helping the Lebanese Society, making a lasting impact through support, empowerment and positive change we have been working hard to raise the level of The Lebanese Family In terms Of Health, Social,Educational and Developmental Care.
The Child and Mother Welfare Association was founded in 1944 in Lebanon where the limited income class prevailed at the time.
Unfortunately, eighty-one years later, the situation of the Lebanese has not improved and the need for a collaboration between the Government and the civil society and charity organizations is still essential, especially for women and children.
The activities of the association focused in its early years on the children and their health where it founded several dispensaries in different Lebanese areas. It was a pioneer in vaccinating children for common diseases of that era and spreading awareness. This interest in the health sector evolved into a hospital that has been serving the people of Lebanon.
In 1972 the hospital was established and since then has witnessed several updates in its infrastructure and its medical equipment and staff. The health sector in the association now includes a laboratory, a pharmacy, a primary health care dispensary, a radiology department, a dental clinic and specialty clinics. The primary health care dispensary still serves the Lebanese through doctors with different specialties.
in 1979 the Technical Institute for Child Care Training was established with the aim of developing human elements, developing the capabilities of young ladies and young men to secure a better future.
In 1979 The Happy Hearts Nursery was established in with the aim of working on his mental, physical, educational and social development in a correct, sound and developed manner through a balanced and integrated environment.
In 1983, the association launched Dar Al Karama, a nursing home aiming at taking care of senior citizens in a dignified manner.
In 1984 the Technical Institute for Nursing Training was established with the aim of developing human elements, developing the capabilities of young ladies and young men to secure a better future
In 1995 The “Handicraft” Sewing Center was established in the Child and Mother Welfare Association. It is the third professional development center of the association’s professional development centers.
In 2000 the Early Diagnosis and Intervention Center for disabled children and those with learning difficulties as esstablished . The revenue generated from these projects go directly to fund the association’s underprivileged families within the Sara Daouk Social Center. This center was a corner stone in the activities of the association when the late Mrs. Daouk donated a land to build the first headquarters for the association.
In 2025 Verdun Dorms was established . An Only Female dorms located in the heart of Verdun, one of Beirut’s most vibrant and connected areas, the residences offer modern amenities, comfortable accommodations, and a cohesive community.
The Child and Mother Welfare Association is one of the oldest charitable organizations in Lebanon. The association needs your contributions today more than ever to provide support and relief to the Lebanese in the midst of this prolonged economic crisis.
